North Richmond Bridge Approach
The Australian and NSW Governments aim to reduce congestion on Kurrajong Road, March Street and Bells Line of Road approaches to Richmond Bridge.
The scope of works included laying
• 116m of 200mm DICL pipe
• 304m of 250mm DICL pipe
• 55m of 273 fully welded SCL pipe
• 36m of 324mm SCL pipe
• Reinforced concrete encasement
• Temporary road reinstatement
• Hydrostatic and compaction testing to Sydney Water standards
• Connection to existing watermain
The complexities of the job included working around live traffic, traffic switches, pedestrian management, working in and around high voltage electricity, high-pressure gas and fibre optic cables. Watermains to be laid deep in order to avoid existing utilities and the majority of works were carried out at night to allow for traffic management implementation

Description:Athassel was engaged by DM Roads for the RMS intersection upgrade at the corner of March Street and Bosworth St in the centre of Richmond to allow for the widening of the North Richmond Bridge Approach. DM Roads chose Athassel Civil following similar successful works under complex conditions on the B Line on the Northern Beaches.
