Phillip Bay
Athassel Civil was engaged by Interflow to construct the new replacement DN450 sewer connection located within the heritage listed Market Gardens in Phillip Bay.
The scope of works involved
- Excavate, lay and backfill 136 lineal meters of 560mm Dia. PN10 Pipes
- Removal of 40 000 ton of a natural sand dune to enable access to the damaged sewer line
- Connect into existing live manholes including dewatering area during connection
- CCTV and Vacuum and Air Testing Pipes and Vacuum Testing Manhole
The complexities of the job included working around local market gardeners, live sewer, temporary bypassing of existing sewer, working in an aboriginal heritage area, dewatering, excavating and shoring in sand.
