Athassel’s scope was to

  • Excavate, lay and backfill 2km of DN300 and DN200mm DICL watermains renewal
  • Restoration of 600 sq m of 2.5m wide footpath, kerb and gutter
  • Landscape restoration
  • Hydrostatic and compaction testing
  • Connection to existing watermain 30 x property connections

The complexities of the job included road crossings, working around live traffic, traffic switches, live watermains pedestrian management, rock removal, working in and around high voltage electricity, high pressure gas and fibre optic cables.  A temporary main was connected to the houses which enabled the plumbers to carry out the transfer of 22 house connections during daytime hours with minimal disruption to residents.  Athassel bored the entrance to local business’s enabling the carparks and driveways to remain open.

Description: Athassel Civil was engaged by Cardno on behalf of Blacktown City Council to construct the new watermains which were upgraded to supply Blacktown Football Park, Softball NSW, Blacktown AFL/Cricket, Blacktown International Sports Park, Baseball Centre and also to increase the water supply to residents along Rooty Hill Road.
