Jacksons Road Warriewood Culvert Replacement
Athassel Civil was engaged by Northern Beaches Council to replace the stormwater culverts at Jacksons Rd Warriewood. The condition of the existing three cell stormwater culvert below Jacksons Road, had deteriorated and required replacement to upgrade the asset to a standard acceptable to Northern Beaches Council.
The culvert replacement design called for cast in-situ walls and precast roof panels.
The scope of works involved
- Demolition of existing culvert and road,
- Construct new culvert, road & pits,
- Roof slabs, asphalt and line marking,
- Construct 100m of kerb and gutter
- 80sq m of footpath and
- Landscape restoration outside Warriewood shopping centre
The complexities of the job included working around tidal influence and flooding, silt and debris left within culvert, environmental management, microbat management involving adhering to microbat management plan, a 3 stage sequence traffic control plan, pedestrian management, relocated bus stop, working in and around high voltage electricity, relocating Jemena high pressure gas, relocating shopping centre fire services, and fibre optic cables.
